Increasing the size of a finished piece is tricky because if you just double everything the shape won't be true and some things (like 12 sts in a first round) will get weird. You want to look at how wide or how many stitches around you want it to be, but get there gradually.

What I would suggest is looking at it from a mathematical perspective, and the prince is I think a good one to try this on since he is effectively just a series of sausage shapes.

To give you an idea of what I mean, for his head I would suggest you do 3 rounds of dark green (first being 6 sts, second being 12 sts and third being 18 sts) then switch to the medium green for 3 rounds of that colour (24 for the first, 30 for the next and 36 for the next) then to your light green for 3 rows of that (42 then 48 then 48) then to the regular basic green for the body and do SC around (48 each round) for 20 or so rounds but look at it as you go and if it looks like it should be shorter or longer, modify as needed. Then do how you started but in reverse to close off his head.

Basically it's like, you want to get the thickness of your piece where it's at it's fattest, to double the thickness of the original, but you have to do this in a gradual way, spreading your increases out so that the shape is retained. Hope that helps or makes some kind of sense :D

Thanks so much for the Katamari pattern! I was looking around and couldn't find it until I saw your blog. =D And I was wondering, if I wanted my Katarmari to be bigger, could I just double everything? Like for example if I make the head, instead of making 6 stitches, I'd make 12 stitches. And then increase by 24 stitches and so on. Would that work? Thanks!!

Hi there, glad to hear the Prince is getting some love :) You might want to have a look at this post http://nerdigurumi.com/2010/02/slip-stitch-technique-for-detail-work.html and watch the videos, the second one especially as it demonstrates the technique. Good luck and let me know if you have any more questions.

I'm working on the pattern right now, and I don't know all the techniques and such, but I was wondering if you could make a tutorial video on how you did the "Frock" I seem to be having trouble with that. I can't get it and/or I am but I don't know if I am doing it right. D: Please and thank you.
