I love this little sackboy! I'm making two currently, one for my niece and one for my nephew. I'm even thinking about making little clothes and costumes for them!
I'd like your permission to sell the finished product. That being said, I was also wondering how long it took you to make one? And if you'd like me to refer people to your website, or just make sure people know who made the pattern? The latter, of which, ill definitely do anyway. :)

Wow I didn't even notice the reply I just found it now! I ended up looking at a YouTube video because for a neophyte like me it was a little easier to follow haha (it also included a real zipper!) but yours was still great thanks so much again for the reply! :)

Hello,I just wanted to say Thank You for this pattern.Myself,my kids,as well as niece's and nephew's LOVE L.B.P. and this is the first ever pattern that is easy to read and understand.
For someone like me who didn't know they had Dyslexia until the age of 15 (Thanks to my English Teacher),it made it hard for me when my mother tried to teach me crochet as a child.I still struggle with reading crochet patterns at times but I am so Thankful for your tutorial videos that are informative and slow enough for me to keep up.
I met a lady yesterday at the store who does not crochet and asked me if I knew the L.B.P. game.As we continued to talk, she told me that she had a son that has been wanting a Sackboy Doll and said that was all he wanted for Christmas.Well,Christmas came and went and she was still not able to find someone willing to try to make one for her son.
Her son turned 12 in January and unfortunately the ladies brother passed away on her sons Birthday. It has been a few months and they have had one loss after the other and they have not been able to celebrate her sons Birthday. She said her son for only being 12 has not complained once about not being able to celebrate his Birthday or the sad events they have had to attend.Thing's are finally calming down and they are going to be able to celebrate this young man's Birthday.
I believe that God brought this lady and I together and I to your website to help fulfill the wish of a boy that has been so patient and understanding for someone so young.
Thank you again and I pray you help to fulfill the wishes of many other children.God Bless.

Thanks for the suggestion but I write patterns the way I like to write them because it is intuitive to me to record and then verify what I did. That's primarily the ease I am concerned about. People trying to use the patterns usually ask questions if a bit is too confusing, and because the questions are answered in the comments, future readers get to benefit from that interaction to figure it out on their end. The semi-colon separates bits that are not related, so in this case, INC x 6 is not related to SC then INC x 3. You can pretend those are brackets if it helps, but they perform the same function. In any case, stitch count clears it up.

I actually dislike asterisks and (brackets) and find them cludgy... This was one of my earlier patterns and I do them now even a bit differently. In any case, you won't be seeing any asterisks in my patterns and brackets will mainly denote stitch count at the end of the row. That's just how it is. As you try more patterns, especially free ones, you will likely start seeing even more variances and differences. If you do start writing and sharing your patterns, you will likely also see that no matter how standardized youw write your instructions, or how much effort you put into your explanations, some people don't get it or aren't happy.

I was a bit confused by your pattern as the repeating sections are not often the most clear. However after reading the comments posted I managed to figure it out. In other patterns, I've seen repeating sections marked with an asterisk or placed inside parenthesis. This is just a suggestion to make it easier for future patterns.

The line here that confused me was line 3 that states:
3. INC six times; SC then INC 3 times (21).
I originally read that I was supposed to do 6 INCs in the stitches from Row 2, and then 1 SC, and then INC 3 times, which would have left me with leftover stitches.

Perhaps if it were more like: "INC next 6 st, (SC then INC) 3 times for a total of 21 st" it would be more clear. Maybe I just fail a little bit at reading patterns. I've only used a few patterns before trying this one.

I'm still in the middle of making my first Sackboy, but so far I think he's turning out great. Thanks so much for taking the time to make this pattern. I'm hoping after making him and a few other patterns, I can figure out how to make my own patterns for the characters in the Avengers, and maybe a few of the Disney Princesses. Ooh, and maybe a Wolverine doll with little claws! Thanks again!
