Batman Amigurumi Pattern (Gotham City Impostors)
This pattern was made with a 3.5mm hook going through both loops and worked in joined rounds except where stated otherwise in the instructions. I used a 3.5mm hook and a mix of Lily Sugar n’ Cream and Peaches & Cream but any worsted weight non-stretchy yarn and hook size that will achieve good tight stitches will do.

I see you post you used black, charcoal, and yellow. What color is pictured around the mouth/check area?
After reading other comments I am still confused about the legs. I am not sure how to end up with 14 stitches with no increases when the starting chain was 5 (even using both sides of the chain). In one comment you mentioned putting the SCs in the second and third chains, I’m not sure what that means. Any help would be appreciated.
Did you watch the tutorial on working in both sides of a chain? In the second chain from your hook put 3 stitches, in the next chain put 1, in the next put 3 for a total of 7 stitches. Next pop over to the other side and repeat the same thing for a total of 14 stitches.

Hi I’m really new to amigurumi and was thrilled to find batman as my friend loves batman and his birthday is coming up..
But I’m confused about the leg part, how do you fit 2 sets of SC x 3 in the same CH, SC, SC x 3 in the same CH into 5 chains?
Please help..
Thanks so much..
🙂
SC x 3 in the right loop of your first chain, single crochet in the right loop of the second chain, SC x 3 in the right loop of the 3rd chain, work the next 3 SCs in the left loop of the 3rd chain (like a u-turn, pop over to the other side of your work), then SC in the left loop of the second chain, SC x 3 in the left loop of the first chain then join. There is a tutorial on the tutorials and help page. It’s for working both sides of a chain. I suppose it would have been a good idea to link it.
I am having difficulty with the legs. After CH 5, am I supposed to join them like a circle, or just SC down the CH and then “pop over to the other side”?
Pop over to the other side. You’re basically making the sole of a shoe.
hello! so im trying to follow your batman pattern on here, i slightly new at the whole amigurumi and im kind of confused… once i get to row number 4 where youre supposed to repeat row 3 i keep getting 29 stitches instead of 28 🙁 then i think i correct it and the next row i get 28 too :/
im not sure what im doing wrong. are we not supposed to stitch in the stitch we used to join?? and then just go to the next stitch after every row??
im so excited to see your pattern on here and it looks adorable!! i hope i can figure this out.
Yes you do stitch in the stitch you use to join. I checked the stitch count and it does look okay. The thing is, if it looks okay, I wouldn’t worry about it too much. An extra stitch here and there does not typically impact the look of amigurumi at all. Just work in an extra decrease when the pattern starts decreasing.
Did you use a hot glue gun for his face and bat symbol or some other kind of glue?
Fabric glue, very very small amounts of it dabbed on with a paint brush.
oh how sweet, am going to make him for myself!!!!! all my male friends are going to want one! lol
thanks for sharing hon xxxxx he’s gorgeous!
I’ve just came across your site and I love what you have created! This Batman pattern is perfect for my grandson and your other ones from video games are ideal for my sons. Thanks so much for sharing.
Great pattern, thanks so much for sharing! Will be adding this to my geeky crochet queue.
I’ll also be blogging about it with pics and a back link 🙂
hello i love your patterne sorry i speak english a little
i want you ask
i can translate in french your patern? for my blog?
thank you
Sorry no, you cannot publish a translation of my patterns.
I need help, please…
I started crocheting but at round 8, i get my hdc, dc and tc in one side of the amigurumi, while in your pic is shown in the center of batman. Is this normal, or im doing something wrong? I would like to know if i have to re-do everything before is too late 🙁
Thanks
Ok, i think i know what happened… This s my first amigurumi using chains, so its kind of hard…
After one joining the rounds, i was beginning the new round in the next stich. I tried starting the new round in the same stich as the join, and it works! Thanks t your tutorials! 😉
Finished making him and I love him! And I’m sure my sister’s boyfriend is going to go crazy too when he gets a super cute Batman for Christmas 🙂 Here’s a pic of how mine turned out (I think I missed a row or two on the head but still looks not bad hehe)

Awesome job!
Can anyone give me a rough estimate of Batman’s finished size? Thanks!
5 inches tall or so.
We love your crochet! Here is a short blog we did about you! Hope you like it 🙂 Will share our final photos after we have completed our own nerds!!

How tall does he end up being?
Around 6 inches.
Hey is there a video for the cape? I’m having a lot of trouble even with the pictures.
No. If you still can’t figure it out just do rows of DC back and forth or use felt.
Yay!!!!! I can’t wait to make this!
I’m so excited to make this! This is going to be my first bigger amigurumi project, and I’m giving it to a friend for her birthday. Thank you so much for this entire website!
Thank you for such an amazing website! I don’t know where to begin! I have to make all of these at least once! They will be gifts for everyone I know till everyone is sick of amigurumi, lol. Thank you, thank you!

Ok, I consider myself to be a pretty advanced crocheter, but I just can’t seem to figure out the cape for this awesome little guy! By the way, I have everything else made and my kids have fallen in love with him! What am I doing wrong with this cape? Maybe I’m just too tired to figure this out.
Pictures were added, hopefully that helps.
Me encantooo,
Pretty please help. It’s very clear that I am completely stuffing up the Batman cape… I really think the back loop front loop thing is my problem. Hoping ***fingers and toes crossed*** that you might post a video tutorial on your blog on how those wonderful flows are done properly in the cape?
No video but there are photos now and I cleaned up the directions a bit. Hope that helps.
I figured out the issue i had with the pattern as prev was repeat rounds 1 , 2 and 3 but as you’ve since confirmed, it was repeat rounds 2 and 3 only. My son just loves his pocket pal Batman and was a real hit for school show and tell. Thankyou again for sharing your artistic gift! This pattern has been a huge hit with my boy!
Yeah I would imagine anyone repeating those chains must have been wondering what kind of glue I was sniffing. So much for writing up patterns late night before bed. Glad he was enjoyed and thanks for your comments.
Oh, wow! I’m definitely going to make this for my husband for Christmas. This is awesome. Thank you!
God bless..
I so LOVE your patterns!! My kids just started playing this game. It kinda creeps me out. I don’t like the joker faces. LOL But they will love this!
My husband will be so happy!!! Thank you for your beatyfull work!! ( sorry for my bad english, a’m from Holland)
I start right away!! Thank you!!
