Flowing cape!
This pattern was made with a 3.5mm hook going through both loops and worked in joined rounds except where stated otherwise in the instructions. I used a 3.5mm hook and a mix of Lily Sugar n’ Cream and Peaches & Cream but any worsted weight non-stretchy yarn and hook size that will achieve good tight stitches will do.

Cape step 2 – turn work and slip stitch in back loops only
Cape step 3 – slip stitch in the back loop of each DC from the previous row
Cape step 4 – Slip stitches shown in back loop, seen from the “wrong side”
Cape step 5 – Ch x 2 and turn work
Cape step 6 – double crochet in the the front loops of the first round of double crochets
Cape step 7 – continue double crocheting one DC in the front loop of each DC from the first row
Ears (make 2)
Start in black
CH x 3
1. DC x 2; finish off leaving a long tail (2)
fold in two to make a triangle shape and sew to head.
hello! so im trying to follow your batman pattern on here, i slightly new at the whole amigurumi and im kind of confused… once i get to row number 4 where youre supposed to repeat row 3 i keep getting 29 stitches instead of 28
then i think i correct it and the next row i get 28 too :/
im not sure what im doing wrong. are we not supposed to stitch in the stitch we used to join?? and then just go to the next stitch after every row??

Yes you do stitch in the stitch you use to join. I checked the stitch count and it does look okay. The thing is, if it looks okay, I wouldn’t worry about it too much. An extra stitch here and there does not typically impact the look of amigurumi at all. Just work in an extra decrease when the pattern starts decreasing.
Did you use a hot glue gun for his face and bat symbol or some other kind of glue?
Fabric glue, very very small amounts of it dabbed on with a paint brush.

I started crocheting but at round 8, i get my hdc, dc and tc in one side of the amigurumi, while in your pic is shown in the center of batman. Is this normal, or im doing something wrong? I would like to know if i have to re-do everything before is too late

Ok, i think i know what happened… This s my first amigurumi using chains, so its kind of hard…
After one joining the rounds, i was beginning the new round in the next stich. I tried starting the new round in the same stich as the join, and it works! Thanks t your tutorials!
Finished making him and I love him! And I’m sure my sister’s boyfriend is going to go crazy too when he gets a super cute Batman for Christmas

Ok, I consider myself to be a pretty advanced crocheter, but I just can’t seem to figure out the cape for this awesome little guy! By the way, I have everything else made and my kids have fallen in love with him! What am I doing wrong with this cape? Maybe I’m just too tired to figure this out.

Pretty please help. It’s very clear that I am completely stuffing up the Batman cape… I really think the back loop front loop thing is my problem. Hoping ***fingers and toes crossed*** that you might post a video tutorial on your blog on how those wonderful flows are done properly in the cape?
No video but there are photos now and I cleaned up the directions a bit. Hope that helps.
I figured out the issue i had with the pattern as prev was repeat rounds 1 , 2 and 3 but as you’ve since confirmed, it was repeat rounds 2 and 3 only. My son just loves his pocket pal Batman and was a real hit for school show and tell. Thankyou again for sharing your artistic gift! This pattern has been a huge hit with my boy!
Yeah I would imagine anyone repeating those chains must have been wondering what kind of glue I was sniffing. So much for writing up patterns late night before bed. Glad he was enjoyed and thanks for your comments.
