Terms of Use
These things are usually filled with wannabe legalese and threats about copying and things. Bo-ring!
I am not Nintendo. Can you imagine?
Many of my Amigurumi creations are based on videogame or anime characters which I did not imagine, design or create. Their image is used in the spirit of fair use with full respect to the copyright and/or trademark the owner of said intellectual property. The likenesses of these lovable characters inspire these yarn fan-art creations, homages if you will, which I share with the internets at no financial or other gain to myself. I don’t run advertising or even panhandle for donations on this site, it is profitless. In other words, please nobody sue me. In simple terms, if my creation or pattern is of a videogame character, an anime character or any trademarked character or image… I do not in any way claim to own the rights to it, to have created it nor do I claim to in any way represent the company or individuals who do. I took the image of something I love and figured out how to recreate it in an artistic medium I enjoy, which I share here with other people who love it.
My patterns are just that… mine.
The patterns I have created and shared remain my own. I share them because sharing is a good thing and brings me forward in my mission to invade the world with amigurumi goodness, plus I would never have learned squat without other people doing the same. I give patterns and tutorials away to anyone who wants to make them, whether they make the patterns into amigurumis to give away, marry eat or sell, is not my concern, but the patterns themselves are shared and given away here at nerdigurumi.com and that is it. The patterns themselves are not to be sold or reposted elsewhere, whether or not a reposter is taking credit for it. I would never have mentioned it folks, if it didn’t happen to people on a regular basis, no stealing my patterns and saying you created them please.
Linking to Patterns
Blog posts featuring my work or talking about my patterns are my main source of traffic, and are very much appreciated. Folks may help themselves to photos of my work and may repost some of my details or information I have posted about the piece or the pattern, but the pattern itself should not be pasted into the post. It confuses people and often the pattern and piece will be mistakenly attributed to the blog that reposted or featured it, and also if there are corrections or modifications to the pattern, or if visitors are trying to make it and run into problems, who to turn to is not clear. If you’d like to feature a pattern, please ensure you post a link directing users to the page on my site where the pattern is located.
My graphics and photos are mine and I retain the copyright.
I have no issue with photos of my work being saved to a website that is describing my work or linking to a post, as a matter of fact this tickles me pink. I do have issue however if the basic structural graphic elements of the website are pilfered.
I enjoy things!
If you like my work, have made one of my patterns and want to show me the end result, would like to say “what up?” I am all for it. I don’t ask for donations, but praise, accolades and feedback is a huge motivator and I love my peeps, so just saying… hook a girl up. Backlinks, comments, good ratings on my youtubes, emails, joining my facebook fan page, getting twittered… whatever it is, it’s all heartwarming and I love you all for it.
Don’t be a jerk!
Decent… It’s a great way to be.
