This tutorial demonstrates my method for embroidering mouths and other details on Amigurumi. For this you will need embroidery floss and a sharp sewing needle.

Thank you so much for posting this! It’s such a simply but clever way to do the smiles! Way to go 🙂

I wish you had a PDF for this embroidery tecnique as I have a hard time learning from watching the video. I am left handed so I don’t know which way to slant the stitches for the outline and how to fill it in. Your video is great and I have watched it several times, but for me to learn I need pictures that I can print out and refer to and reverse directions for my lefthandedness. Thank you..Sandy

It doesn’t matter how you slant the stitches really. You want to have a series of little stitches into the crochet fabric, then go back over and run your needle through those stitches, wrapping around them, to fill in the smile and make the stitches looks less inconsistent.

Thank you so much! After watching this, I can’t believe how hard I was making it! This video definitely cleared up my questions, and now my Amigurumi mouths look great! Thank you again!
