Alien Hominid, Chibi Kawaii Cat, Bunny and Bear Amigurumi Patterns

Chibi Kawaii Amigurumi Kitty, Bunny and Bear and Alien Hominid

The gang is all here.

I was working on a new pattern for a flexible pattern that could be made into various cute, chibi-style animals or humanoid forms, when my husband pointed out how well suited the head shape was to make the pattern into an Alien Hominid. Not content with just a kitty, bear and bunny rabbit, and eager to implement any aspect of nerdery possible, I endeavored to make his dreams come true and set about crafting him his very own Alien Hominid, which he adores.

This pattern is a flexible chibi-style pattern that can be modified to make any cute chibi style animal or humanoid. The oversize head, disproportionate limbs and tiny pot bellied body seal the pattern in the genre of chibi-deformed cuties. It is quite simple and works up fast, creating a finished doll around 4 inches tall in around 1 hour for most experienced crocheters. I have included patterns for bear, cat and rabbit ears and tails, however point out that a cat ear could be stitched to the front of a face to make a bird beak and bunny ears applied to the side of a head upside down make uncanny floppy dog ears. In other words, it is a versatile pattern, so go nuts and let your imagination get the best of you.

Amigurumi No-Sew Hamburger or Cheeseburger

Food has been a routine source of inspiration for all sorts of cuteness, from stationary to Amigurumi and I have always loved recreating it in Amigurumi. This pattern was inspired by the hamburger from Doki-Doki Yummy Chums, and is a super cute burger that wants to make friends. The pattern is worked continuously in one piece, and finishes up faster than the separate buns, patties and cheese patterns I found online, most of which were pay anyhow. It also needs no sewing, which saves time and pain in the ass factor, and makes it safer for animals and small children. It is perfect for cat toys, just stuff with catnip, or insert a squeaky thing for dog or baby toys and wait for the drool to fly!

So happy to be so cute!

Kawaii Amigurumi CupCake Keychain

Itty Bitty Amigurumi CuppyCake

I made this little guy for the girl who has been teaching a manga drawing class at the local Comic Book store for the last year or so and has been awesome to my kid. She’s passed on some really cool drawing tips, always been friendly and patient with the kids, and that is super duper in my books. She’s going on to another job and won’t be there anymore so we wanted to do something sweet for her.

It was made with half strands of yarn and a 2mm crochet hook. The bottom is worked to be actually flat. I didn’t take good notes as I made it and just winged it, but I put up the pattern as best I recall and have sussed out from looking at the thing. If this is done with a bigger hook and full strands of yarn, it’ll just be bigger, like little pin cushion sized.
