Village Yarn Craft Cotton
Overall
Value
The yarn is soft enough, a standard non-mercerized cotton yarn or “kitchen cotton” and comes is an acceptable variety of solid colours, including reds, greens and a variety of oranges, making it one of the better colour palettes available (PNC being the main front runner). The main problem however, is that because it is so much thinner and rounder than BHC, PNC, and LSC, it can’t really be used in the same piece with the others without looking somewhat different in texture and possibly distorting the pattern. The thinness and “cord-like” characteristic is my only real grievance with this yarn because it is well priced at $1.69 US ($1.86 CN), can be easily purchased online with reasonable shipping and comes in a good variety of colours, but unfortunately, for me, the cons outweigh the pros and the balls I bought just sit in the bins without seeing any action. I do anticipate busting them out one day for a small piece like a keychain or cellphone strap, but I don’t anticipate buying this yarn again.

Have used this product for crochet dish cloths and just made three ripple hand towels and all came out just beautiful and will use this village yan craft cotton from now to make these products in the future, and I believe I only paid $1.27 for the plain and $1.47 for the mixed color yarn. I got my yarn from Herrschners.
Thank you for this review. I was thinking of buying some of this but wasn’t sure about quality. I think I will pass on it. 🙂
That’s probably prudent, I was not thrilled.
