He should be stuff firmly to fill out the shape.

SOrr, I meant skipping not skinning. My question may seem stupid but I am used to crochet in french. I like your patern and it is the one my grandson loves the most.It really is the cutest one.
Thank you so much for the patern. It is a first for me but I want to make the sackboy for my grandson. He asked me to make it for him I do crochet but never made a softie. I have a question regarding the patern the number three increases. Can you explain how to increase 6 times then 3 tes. I wonder if you mean skinning some SC in order to obtain 21 SCs instead of 24.
Thank you so much in advance

This is by far the nicest Sackboy amigurumi pattern I have seen. Can’t wait to make it for my son. Thank you for sharing your lovely pattern, and making it so easy to follow.
Firstly I want to thank you a billion times over for this pattern.. I love sackboy. I just started crocheting 3 wks ago, and am really in love with amigurumi critters.. I’ve made 4 different patterns so far.. Really having fun.. I have a question about the eye placement. I don’t have any button eyes just the safety eyes that are put in once a head is finished. Can I just continue the pattern minus the eyes at the moment? Will that work?
Thank You for you time..
Barb
I love this updated version. The first ever amigurumi I made was your sackboy for my oldest son. It was made in a camo yarn and I used fabric paint to give it the expression my son specified. It looked almost exactly like his at the time. This was about maybe 4 years ago? He is well loved and still holding up, quite a mischief maker he is. đ I came back to the pattern since the boys wanted new ones as well a a girly one for my 5 month old. But first on the list is one for a boy in my youngest son’s Sunday school class for Valentine’s Day since I am making each child their own amigurumi of a character or animal they like. While reading through the comments I saw there was an odd sock pattern? I must try it. I knit as well as crochet so that is no issue. My boys will be so happy. You are a very talented woman. Thank you for sharing your patterns.
Hello, Thank you so much for making this pattern. My son loves this game, and he will be turning 8 soon, and this will be the perfect birthday gift for him from me. I will be be visiting your site a lot for more crochet patterns, because my son and husband love some of the characters you made from games. I hope you come up with more terrific patterns, again thanks.
for the head, i couldn’t get the stitch counts to work out correctly in rows 2 and 3. so i just fudged it.
actually, it was just row 3 – i added an sc at the beginning and end of the round
Hi, followed the pattern and made him. He looks great, my son is really pleased and I’m a beginner and found it easy to follow. Looking forward a sack girl pattern next for my daughter. Thanks again for the pattern.
Just wanted to say thanks for the pattern!!! I asked my 13 year old son what he wanted me to crochet him for Christmas this year. He picked a sackboy! Considering how long it took me to get him to play LBP with me, I was thrilled! LOL Can’t wait to start on the little guy!
Hi! I made a Sackboy with your pattern and I’m very happy with it! You can see the ami over here: http://vildeviant.deviantart.com/ ^.^
Hi, thank you so much for this pattern however I wondered if you can help. I am stuck on the bottom part of his leg with 3. INC x 6 then STOP (12) 4. SL ST around (18)…does this mean, I increase 6 time, and then slip stitch all the way around until I am at the end of the row 3, or slip stitch all the way around until I am at the start of where I started the slip stitch? Apologies upfront if this is a dumb question. Thanking you ahead!
Slip stitch all the way around so the circle of slip stitches is complete.
Sorry, please excuse me. I just read your post about requests.
I’m a fan and grateful for themsackboy pattern and so are my grandchildren.
Aloha, please will you develop a pattern for Odd Sock, Toggles, And NaNa Pud?
My grandchildren would love to have them.
Mahalo!
Oddsock is currently in the works but it’s a knit pattern.

Thank you! Cool pattern and he looks exactly like himself, gonna try it soon. I just got introduced to Amigurumi and crocheting. I have been practicing my stitches and learning the “crochet codes” so today when I read your instructions I found it very easy to follow. My advice to beginners is to practice your stitch tension and techniques and learn the abreviated codes…I have a Complete Idiot’s Guide to Amigurumi that is loaded with tips! That way when you do your own Sackboy you will enjoy it and start to design your own patterns. First understand so that you will enjoy the journey. Otherwise you will frustrate yourself and give up.
Hi I made my very own sackboy!! But I used safety eyes instead of buttons though because I don’t live in the US. please take a look and tell me what you think!! http://www.ravelry.com/projects/Cakethecat00/little-big-planet-sackboy
Thanks!!

I already have a knitted Sackboy, but now he can have a crocheted brother! Thanks for sharing the pattern đ
What size eyes do you use for this guy?
I want to thank you for this pattern and also Link. I made Link for my granddaughter and when my 20 yr old son saw that the sword actually came out of the sheath, it was so funny! He said I never made him anything like that so for his 21st birthday, he got a Link and was very happy.
I can’t remember but if you look through the older comments I’m sure it has been asked and answered before. They were buttons though not safety eyes.
Hi !
Thanks a lot for your pattern !! Here is my little sackboy, his hand are way too big I think but I really don’t know where I went wrong đ http://ahooka.canalblog.com/
Ups here is the direct link to sackboy http://ahooka.canalblog.com/archives/2014/01/23/29026901.html
Thanks. If you are wondering what went wrong with the arms it looks like they are inside out. The wrong side of the stitches is showing. The wrong side is bulkier so things made wrong side out tend to appear larger/bulkier. Cute Sackboy, thanks for posting đ
Right !! Thank you very much for your answer ! I just started with amigurumis I month ago and those are the kind of details I don’t see yet ! Always happy to learn something new !
Hi,
I just wanted to thank you for giving us this pattern, it’s extremely well written and understandable ! So, thanking you is the least I can do !!
There is no explanation whatsoever for the “fingers” and thumb”. I’ve got 3 SC and no idea what is a finger and what is a thumb. Or how to stitch them to the arm…
The fingers and the thumb are the exact same thing, where you place them is what makes them look like a finger or a thumb. Look at your hand and arrange them like that. I’m not sure why you would say there is no explanation whatsoever, it’s in the pattern. From the pattern:
Finger/Thumb (make 10)
CH 4
1. SC 3 (1 SC in each CH starting at the second CH from your hook) to make a âstripâ of 3 SC (3)
Finish off and tie both ends of cut yarn in a knot. Trim and arrange in open end of arm, stitching the âfingersâ to the inside of the open end and the thumb to the outside. Stuff arm and stitch open end closed sewing through fingers to secure them. <--- that is an explanation. Additionally, this has been queried in the comments. Click on "Older Comments" at the bottom to see all of the comment history and benefit from the queries other people have asked and the answers they received. You'll find gems such as: The arms are finished a bit differently, they are sort of like upside down ice cream cones, the open end will be flattened and you will stitch each individual finger into place in the âsandwichâ. The arms are worked top to bottom and the legs are worked bottom to top. There is a difference between no explanation whatsoever and not understanding the explanation provided.
My apologies. I just had all these things and felt like I was just reading “stick them in there and now you have a hand”. SO what is a finger, 2 of the 3sc stick out of the arm? I didn’t know I could look at older comments, as I did try and couldn’t find anything there to help either. Thanks for the reply.
I don’t understand what you are asking. Make the finger as directed, sew it to the inside of the arm cone to make a hand, sew it shut. I don’t know how many SCs exactly stick out of the arm, use your judgement. There aren’t many more ways the exact same thing can be explained. It’s really not complicated.
Thank you so much for posting this free pattern, I have looked at ones that you had to buy and yours is by far the cutest!!! The little guy I’m making it for will LOVE him!!!!
Hi,
I just found your Sackboy pattern and I must say that the Sackboy looks really great. -Like all your work. But I have problems with written instructions (I am still beginner and have just done my first bonnet successfully). The next point: It is in english. That makes it even more complicated for me as I have read only german patterns.
I wish that you would have made a Video for this Sackboy.
Dino
actully, there is a video for the crocheted sackboy on youtube. it’s easy and simple for a beginner sence the writen pattern dosen’t make sense to you. *smiles*
It’s worth noting it’s a different pattern by a different designer. Ultimately people having trouble figuring out patterns need to either push themselves to figure it out or learn to free-hand what they want to make because otherwise they will be very limited in what they can do.
um im woundering about making one sack boy can i make a skull for his face and how can i do this?
You could always try to switch out colours to make a skull look or cut out a piece of felt. If you want to modify a pattern to do something different you’ll need to experiment.
I love this little sackboy! I’m making two currently, one for my niece and one for my nephew. I’m even thinking about making little clothes and costumes for them!
I’d like your permission to sell the finished product. That being said, I was also wondering how long it took you to make one? And if you’d like me to refer people to your website, or just make sure people know who made the pattern? The latter, of which, ill definitely do anyway. đ
Yes, please have a look at the FAQ for more information.
I just wanted to say thank you for this pattern! It’s so adorable. It’s really hard to find a cute sackboy pattern, and I was wanting to make one more cuddle sized, so I doubled your pattern and it seems to be coming out great so far! I’d be more than happy to share the reworked one with you of you want it, after I finish and make sure it’s all correct!
Thanks again!
How did it turn out ?? Would love to see.
Hello,I just wanted to say Thank You for this pattern.Myself,my kids,as well as niece’s and nephew’s LOVE L.B.P. and this is the first ever pattern that is easy to read and understand.
For someone like me who didn’t know they had Dyslexia until the age of 15 (Thanks to my English Teacher),it made it hard for me when my mother tried to teach me crochet as a child.I still struggle with reading crochet patterns at times but I am so Thankful for your tutorial videos that are informative and slow enough for me to keep up.
I met a lady yesterday at the store who does not crochet and asked me if I knew the L.B.P. game.As we continued to talk, she told me that she had a son that has been wanting a Sackboy Doll and said that was all he wanted for Christmas.Well,Christmas came and went and she was still not able to find someone willing to try to make one for her son.
Her son turned 12 in January and unfortunately the ladies brother passed away on her sons Birthday. It has been a few months and they have had one loss after the other and they have not been able to celebrate her sons Birthday. She said her son for only being 12 has not complained once about not being able to celebrate his Birthday or the sad events they have had to attend.Thing’s are finally calming down and they are going to be able to celebrate this young man’s Birthday.
I believe that God brought this lady and I together and I to your website to help fulfill the wish of a boy that has been so patient and understanding for someone so young.
Thank you again and I pray you help to fulfill the wishes of many other children.God Bless.
Hello. Thanks for making this sackboy pattern and sharing it. I’m looking forward to working it up and creating a little buddy. Nice job on your site. With your good directions perhaps MY Sackboy will even look like a… well…a Sackboy!
Hello,
I just wanted to thank you for this pattern. My friend loves Little Big Planet, and when I went to find a free pattern yours popped up. This is only my fourth amigurumi ever, and it has turned out amazingly thanks to your pattern. I look forward to browsing your site in the furture. (:
