Nerdigurumi Amigurumi Pattern Index

This index links to all of my patterns in an easy to find categorized way because nothing drives me more nuts than digging around a blog looking for a post that contained a pattern or something I need but is tagged obscurely or buried in a bizarre category. As with all of my work, these puppies are free and have very permissive terms of use.

Amigurumi Patterns – TV and Anime

Aqua Teen Hunger Force (Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1) Amigurumi Pattern

Aqua Teen Hunger Force (Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1)

Aqua Teen Hunger Force (Aqua Unit Patrol Squad 1)
Easy or Skill Level 2
This pattern is for Master Shake, Frylock and Meatwad and requires plastic canvas to reinforce Master Shake and Frylock.

Chiyo-Chichi - Father Cat Amigurumi Plush

Chiyo Chichi

Chiyo ChiChi (Father Cat) from Azumanga Daioh
Beginner or Skill Level 1
Chiyo-Chichi, the short tempered cat father of Chiyo-Chan makes, no sense and this is perhaps why I love him so. Rising from the fevered dreams of Osaka and Sakakke, he now takes Amigurumi crochet form in this easy pattern.

Amigurumi Domo-Kun

Large DomoKun

Domo-Kun – Large (Domokun)
Easy or Skill Level 2
Domo-kun, a strange yet very polite creature that hatched from an egg, likes to rock, watch tv, hang out with an old rabbit dude and pass gas when nervous, is here for you in Amigurumi form. This Domo is a good medium size, finishes up to around 10 inches tall.

Small Domo-Kun Amigurumi

Domo-Kun – Small (Domokun)
Easy or Skill Level 2
This is a smaller, roughly 5 inch tall Domo-Kun that is worked in joins rather than a spiral and has a crocheted red mouth panel instead of an added felt panel. If you aren’t familiar with working in joined rounds, make sure you watch the video that is linked in the pattern.

Keroro Guno - Sgt Frog Sassy Pose

Keroro Gunsou (Sgt Frog)

Sgt Frog (Keroro Gunso) (can mod for other squad members)
Easy or Skill Level 2
Cute, wildly screwy, moody, kind of a little creep, Keroro Gunsou (Sgt Frog) has ambitions to take over the world and appreciates a good WcDonald’s burger. An alien invader from the planet Keron, he and his troop of subordinates are here to take over or destroy Pekopon (earth).

Amigurumi Patterns – Videogames

Alien Hominid

Alien Hominid
Beginner or Skill Level 1
This flexible pattern can be used to make an Alien Hominid doll that is around 7 inches tall. The antennas are made with bobby pins and yellow paint. We had Alien Hominid for the Gamecube and it was a fun and really well loved game.

Angry Birds Amigurumi Pattern

Angry Birds Red Cardinal

Angry Birds Red Cardinal
Beginner or Skill Level 1
Who hasn’t heard of Angry Birds? Nobody, that’s who. I don’t play the game myself, but my mom loves it and I made this Bird and the Pig below for her Christmas gift. The pattern is fairly simple although the tail instructions have confused a few people. Check the comments for more information.

Angry Birds Amigurumi Pattern

Angry Birds Green Pig

Angry Birds Pig
Beginner or Skill Level 1
This Angry Birds Pig pattern can be modified to make the various incarnations of pigs, of which there are many from what I can gather. All parts are crochet with some felt details and black 6mm safety eyes are great for the pupils if you have them.

You're no match for Batman

Batman (Gotham City Impostors)

Batman from Gotham City Impostors
Beginner or Skill Level 1
Inspired by the awesomeness that is Gotham City Impostors, this amigurumi dark knight has a little stubby build that matches the style of the game art in loading screens, business bat mascot and the calling card.

Big Daddy (the Bouncer) from Bioshock in Amigurumi Crochet

Bioshock Big Daddy Bouncer

Big Daddy Bouncer from Bioshock
Intermediate or Skill Level 3
This would have to be the pattern I am most proud of. A small but surprisingly detailed rendition of Mr. Bubbles, a Bouncer Big Daddy from one of my favorite games of all time, Bioshock. This pattern has tons of sewing and finicky pieces and is not for the faint of heart.

Bioshock 2 Bouncer Big Daddy Doll

Big Daddy Bouncer Replica Doll from Bioshock 2
Intermediate or Skill Level 3
This pattern is for a replica of the Bouncer Big Daddy dolls that can be found in Pauper’s Drop in the game Bioshock 2, less the orange screwdriver in the head. It was made to be relatively sized to a child as the in game doll would have been to a little sister.

Borderlands 2 - Claptrap (CL4P-TP)

Borderlands 2 – Claptrap (CL4P-TP)

Borderlands (2) Cl4P-TRP (Claptrap)
Intermediate
Inspired by quite possibly the best character in Borderlands and Borderlands 2, Claptrap is a stair-challenged and somewhat pathetic general purpose steward bot. The doll is around 7 inches tall and reinforced with plastic canvas.

Super Goombagurumi Brothers!

Super Goombagurumi Brothers!

Super Goombagurumi Brothers
Intermediate or Skill Level 3
These little Goombas finally got tired of being stepped on and decided to emulate the Super Mario Brothers and seek their own adventures!

Amigurumi Minecraft Creeper with Pattern

Minecraft Creeper

Creeper from Minecraft
Intermediate or Skill Level 3
That’sssss a very nice everything you’ve got there… It’d be a shame if anything were to happen to it… Plastic canvas reinforcements are recommended for this pattern to create and retain a cubic shape.

Goomba Amigurumi Crochet

Super Mario Brothers Goomba

Goomba (Goombah) from Super Mario Brothers
Beginner or Skill Level 1
This Goomba pattern was originally made as a catnip toy and is quite simple and easy to make. Great for beginners and a must for classic or modern Super Mario fans.

Katamari Damacy - Amigurumi Crochet Katamari Prince

Katamari Prince

Katamari Prince
Easy or Skill Level 2
Na, na na na na na na na Katamari Damacy! From the genius mind of Keta Takahashi, the Katamari Prince is adorable in amigurumi form. If you look on Ravelry there are some excellent Katamari patterns to complement him.

Kirby

Kirby

Kirby
Beginner or Skill Level 1
This Kirby pattern makes a 6 inch Kirby doll and if you happen to be a Super Smash Brothers fan, the pattern for a Super Mario hat is also included, on account of when Kirby ate fools, he often wore their hat or a hat in their likeness.

Legend of Zelda - Toon Link and Red Chuchu

Link and a red Chuchu

Link (Toon Link) Playset from Legend of Zelda
Intermediate or Skill Level 3
This pattern is for a playset of Toon Link from Legend of Zelda Windwaker. Included is a bomb, a Chuchu, pig, sword and shield for Link. There is a fair bit of sewing in this pattern but it is worth it.

Amigurumi Crochet NobyNoby Boy

Noby Noby Boy

Noby Noby Boy
Easy or Skill Level 2
From an amazingly creative, peaceful and confusing game, Noby Noby Boy is one of my favorite PS3 games. Another Keita Takahashi gem, the dynamic environments are so very full of weird and whimsy.

Portal - Amigurumi Weighted Companion Cube

Weighted Companion Cube

Portal – Companion Cube
Intermediate or Skill Level 3
The weighted companion cube is the most widely known and much loved iconic visual reference to Portal and Portal II. So loyal and always there for you, it would be a shame to incinerate this fine friend.

Portal 2 Chell

Portal Chell

Portal – Chell
Intermediate or Skill Level 3
This pattern is for a Portal 2 style Chell playset. It includes Chell, her portal device and a weighted companion cube. There is a fair bit of sewing involved in this pattern so it is not or the faint of heart.

Amigurumi Sackboy from Little Big Planet

Sackboy

SackBoy from Little Big Planet
Easy or Skill Level 2
A floppy little cutie, clearly knitted, and yet screaming to be recreated in crochet, he is, the reason I pursued learning how to make amigurumi… I wanted a sackboy of my very own. This pattern is for a Sackboy that is proportionately sized to a PS3 controller so you can make him his very own pod!

Amigurumi Patterns – Other

This is a very basic beginner pattern that I used to teach local workshops. It can be modified to be a bear, cat, dog etc depending on ears made. The pattern includes tutorial videos for round by round instruction and is recommended for those new to the craft.

Amigurumi Crochet Hook

Crochet Hook

Crochet Hook
Easy or Skill Level 2
In it’s very own “Pimp my Ride” putting things in things style splendor, I present to you the amigurumi crochet, crochet hook… an amigurumi plushie of a… crochet hook. I know right?

Itty Bitty Amigurumi CuppyCake

Cupcake

Cupcake
Easy or Skill Level 2
This pattern makes a small cupcake that would be perfect for a keychain.

deadmau5

Deadmau5 Head

Deadmau5
Easy or Skill Level 2
Electro-house fans rejoice, everyone else commence scratching your heads. This Deadmau5 (pronounced deadmouse) amigurumi is small, making a perfect keychain for a fan.

Cheeseburger

Hamburger (one piece with minimal sewing)
Intermediate or Skill Level 3
This Cheeseburger or Hamburger pattern makes an amazing cat toy when stuffed to the gills with catnip. It is made in one piece, has almost no sewing and works up way faster than individual pieces (patty, cheese, lettuce, buns) made separately then stitched together.

Adam's Rabbit

Adam’s Rabbit

Rabbit
Beginner or Skill Level 1
A cute little bunny rabbit in a fetching Bill Cosby style sweater, what could possibly top that? Maybe a carrot. This works up to around 6 inches and is well suited to beginners. Originally made as a gift for a baby named Adam.

Crochet Patterns – Accessories (not amigurumi)

My One Ball Lacy Sock Yarn Cowl

Lacy Sock Yarn Cowl

Lacy Sock Yarn Cowl
Easy or Skill Level 2
Necks get cold and sometimes, just sometimes, I like to make practical things. This cowl uses up only one small ball of sock yarn and is light and airy.

Cyclops Baby Booties

Cyclops Baby Booties

Cyclops Baby Booties
Easy or Skill Level 2
These were made while I was watching Futurama, the single purple eye being inspired by the lovely lady Leela. They work up quickly and are good gifts for breeders with good senses of humor.
